NOV 2020 – Wow what a year its been for Cullen. After a breakthrough season with the Crusaders including many starring roles in the early part of Super Rugby Aotearoa his strong form saw him selected for the All Blacks. Many pundits, like us at Aspect Trust, are picking a big big future for this rising star of NZ Rugby.
SEPT 2019 – Having represented South Canterbury in aged group teams U11 to U18 level and being an integral part of recent TBHS’s proud UC Cup heritage, Cullen is now making his mark at both Canterbury and National levels.
From being a Crusader Junior Knight 2016/17 and Canterbury U19 captain last year, Cullen made his Crusaders debut in a pre-season game this year. Building on his selection as a NZ Secondary Schools representative in 2017, his rugby stocks further increased this year following his recent selection in the NZ U20 team for the upcoming Oceania Champs – the first South Canterbury player to be selected since 1998.
Cullen has already achieved two of his goals this year having been selected for both the NZ U20 team for the World Cup in Argentina and recently the Canterbury NPC squad. Next goal is obtaining a contract with the Crusaders in 2020.
