I would like thank you for your support for my recent trip away in Poland to race the best youth laser radial sailors in the world.

It was a very difficult event for me in terms of results as I found myself struggling in the qualifying series due to the light, fickle conditions. As a result I found myself only qualifying for silver fleet… just. As the final series came round I adjusted my mindset and told myself] had nothing to lose so I gave it my all in the final four races of what would be my last laser radial regatta. With this I managed all top 10’s, including a first and a second on the last day! It was all too little too late though as I could only make up 40 places in the four races in finals to get to 57th overall out of 160 competitors.

Aside from the final placing I gained at the event, I thoroughly enjoyed my first trip to Europe and took in all the sites and culture along the way. Much was learnt from this trip in terms of not only my sailing in regards to managing myself in big fleet racing and regatta life but also how different the world is on
the other side and the uniqueness it has. This trip has by far been the most exciting of my life simply due to the amount of knowledge I have gained as a result of it plus getting to experience cultures around the world that many others may never get to experience.

Now I am currently training in the full rig Laser as l begin to set up an Olympic campaign in this class over the years to come. lt will require a lot oftime and dedication to both on and off the water training but that to me is what makes this so exciting.
