UPDATE 25 June 2022 – Hello everyone, and once again, I want to express my gratitude for providing me with the opportunity to pursue my dreams and goals. I’ve been racing in Belgium for 7 weeks now, and there have been ups and downs. To begin with, the racing has been fantastic, with three top tens, two top fives, and a win in fields ranging from 80 to 150 riders.
Unfortunately, I crashed out of the Tour of Flanders, one of Europe’s largest junior races, but the real bad luck has come in the last two weeks. Last week, I was hit from behind by an E-bike, breaking my bike, and then on Tuesday, I was hit by a car, snapping another bike. I’m fine in terms of health, but missing two weeks of training has taken a toll on my fitness and preparation for the World Championships in Israel in six weeks. Fortunately, I’ve been given a bike for the remainder of my time in Belgium, and I’m hoping to return to the top step.
Hopefully this is the end of a bad run, with racing and training resuming to normal.
Kind regards, Jaxson
