Your support enabled me to pay for flights and other associated costs, like food, accommodation, physio, sports psychology, my competition gear and gave me a fighting chance of making it to the Solomon Islands to compete in the first place. I am forever grateful to the team at Aspect Trust for putting their faith in me for this competition, and it paid off because I came away with so much life experience, as well as two gold medals in 800m and 1500m and a bronze in the 4x400m relay.

The Pacific Games was my first international competition and to come away with a result I am genuinely proud of, is a great confidence booster for my domestic season, and for future international representation. The conditions were not ideal, with the heat being quite the barrier, however the friends I have made and the countries I was able to proudly compete alongside, made this one of my best life experiences to date. This competition was a stepping stone for me and having the support of a local sport trust made me proud to represent not just New Zealand, but also South Canterbury.

I am extremely hungry for more, and excited for what the future holds. Thank you.
